Single row bearings have rollers that are guided between the cages on the rings of the bearing. The ring that has the cage assembly can easily be removed that helps in the ease of mounting and dismounting. This function is particularly helpful if there is a need for interference fits in the rings.Some of the common types of single row cylindrical roller bearings are the NU, N, NJ, NF, NUP, and NH types. While the NU and NJ types have double ribs in the outer rings, the N type has them in the inner rings. The NU and N types are ideal for side bearing (floating). There is a single rib on the outer ring and double ribs on the inner rings of the NF type. Along with the NJ type, the NF type is also used for side bearings that do not have any difference between floating and fixed. Unlike these types, there is collar ring on the inner ring that does not have any rib. Similarly, there is an 'L' collar in the same position of the NH type. These Single Row Bearing are specifically used for fixed side bearings of a shaft.
